Tips for Starting 2023 Strong & Healthy

January 1, 2023

Ending the year strong is paramount, but so is starting it. You have a whole year ahead of you, and you might as well get it off to a great start, especially in terms of your health.

I think most of us would agree that in any year, health is wealth, and we are pretty much in the same boat in terms of deciding to be healthier in 2023.

Here are a few tips for starting the year strong and healthy.

1. Make your space more organised.

It’s the start of a new year, and you might be thinking about all the ways you can improve your health. But if you’re like most people, you’re probably not thinking about how much better your home could make you feel.

As it turns out, there are lots of reasons why making your home clean and organised is beneficial for your physical and mental health. For starters, well, it helps you sleep better, reduce stress levels, and improve productivity at school/work.

In addition, when you have a clean space, it’s easier to keep germs at bay, which means less sickness in the family!

2. Consider taking a daily multivitamin.

Vitamins are one of the best things you can do for your body—and they’re not just for people who are old or sick. They’re also great for people who want to stay active and feel their best.

Further, they’re a great way to make sure you’re getting all of the nutrients you need without having to think about what is good for you and what isn’t. If you’re looking for a way to give your body some extra support in the new year, consider taking vitamins.

3. Schedule a doctor’s appointment, even if you feel healthy.

You never know what your doctor might find. It’s always better to be safe than sorry! Booking a doctor’s appointment in January will also help you make more informed decisions about your lifestyle and align your goals to your specific needs this 2023.

Even if you feel totally healthy, it’s important to find out where your baseline is and how well your body is functioning. Your doctor can help you figure out what kind of changes you might want to make in your diet or lifestyle or if there are any health conditions worth investigating further.

4. Find a new outlet.

Whether it’s a hobby or a passion, finding something you love and doing it regularly will help you stay healthy, positive, and motivated throughout the year.

You don’t have to start from scratch. You can find a new way to exercise that suits your schedule or a new place to go for fresh air and sunshine. Maybe you’ll start meditating, or maybe you’ll join an improv class—it doesn’t matter what it is as long as it’s something that makes you feel good!

5. Start small.

You wouldn’t want to overwhelm yourself with an unrealistic new year’s resolution and expect results overnight.

Start with a simple goal. You don’t have to run a marathon tomorrow—just run for 5 minutes today. It’s better than nothing! If you can’t even manage that much, try walking around the block once today and then maybe two blocks the next week.

6. Get into a routine.

It doesn’t have to be complicated! Just pick a time of day when you do the same thing every day (like doing yoga at 8am or taking an evening stroll at 6pm) and stick with it. Your body will adjust quickly and start craving that routine so much that you won’t be able to break out of it without feeling majorly off-kilter!

Wrap Up

We all know that making resolutions is what helps start the year off right. But, in order to keep going strong, it’s just as important to focus on the little things, too. Keep a resolution journal and share your goals to keep yourself honest.

You don’t need to drastically change anything about your lifestyle to dramatically improve it. Just adding these small habits will help you reach those lofty goals you’ve set for yourself.
