The 3 Health & Wellness Tips Jennifer Aniston Swears By

March 27, 2021

If there’s one thing we can all agree on about Jennifer Aniston, it’s the fact that she’s aging very well. Whether we’d like to admit it or not, she doesn’t even look a day over fifty. From her Friends days to the present, it’s a little difficult to say that she’s never looked good – and a quick look at her Instagram posts after reading through most of her interviews tells us the story behind her ageless beauty: that is, she keeps herself healthy and fit!

No matter how old we are right now, it’s not too late to be healthy and fit just like Jennifer. From eating right to working out five times a week, there’s a lot of advice out there but here are three health and wellness tips that the actress herself swears by!

1. She does intermittent fasting!

During her interview with Radio Times, Jennifer revealed: “I do intermittent fasting, so no food in the morning. I noticed a big difference in going without solid food for 16 hours.”

This is only one variation of the infamous diet: you choose an eight-hour timeframe for your food intake while fasting for the remaining sixteen hours. According to Healthline, “16/8 intermittent fasting is simple, safe and sustainable.” Not only is it more flexible than other diets, it’s also not as strict and can fit just about any schedule and lifestyle with the right tweaking.

Since you’ll go without solid food for sixteen hours, a balanced diet is important during the eight-hour window where you’re allowed to consume more than just water to keep yourself hydrated. Here are some recommendations: whole grains, fruits, and vegetables are high in fiber and can make you feel more full, while lean protein and healthy fats can help with satiety – as in you’re more satisfied with your food intake and will be less susceptible to cheating during your diet.

Do be careful about binging on junk food during the times you can eat though! This negates the positive effects – and all your hard work! – of the diet and can actually do more harm to your body.

2. Work out – even if you don’t want to!

In an interview with People, Jennifer’s advice when you don’t feel like working out is to: “Bite the bullet. Just bite the bullet and do it.” Sound advice, especially since there’s a big difference between I can’t and I don’t want to. In a separate interview with Women’s Health, listening to your body is vital especially during the I can’t days, but what about those days where you’re just being stubborn?

Chase after those endorphins! Challenge yourself by asking if you really don’t want to, but if there’s that one part of you – just a tiny one – that’s willing to “get on some machine for 10 minutes”, then by all means, do it. Soon enough, you’ll feel that much needed rush of endorphins that will make you feel great and encourage you to keep going. Before you know it, your ten-minute machine exercise has turned into a full work out!

3. Get some vitamin D – but with some sunscreen, of course.

“I still sit in the sun… you need that vitamin D for a glow and your mood,” Jennifer shares with Vogue. Far beyond an amazing glow and better mood though, vitamin D also helps regulate calcium and maintain phosphorus levels in the blood – factors that play an important role in keeping our bones healthy. So it’s a win-win situation: basking in the sun wearing your favorite sunscreen will give you a beautiful glow, make you happy, and keep you bones strong!

These are, of course, health and wellness tips that worked for Jennifer – it’s always best to look at all the other options you have out there before making a drastic change in your lifestyle. Here’s what we do know for sure though: it doesn’t matter what type of diet or work out you end up doing – the point is, no one ever goes wrong with a balanced diet and exercise! If there’s anything to swear by, it’s these two for sure.

Have a healthy, happy life!
